Narration Change করার সহজ পদ্ধতি
Narration change দুটি পদ্ধতিতে রূপান্তর করা যায় । যেমন –
(A) Direct Narration থেকে Indirect Narration
(B) Indirect Narration থেকে Direct Narration
এখন আমরা (A) Direct Narration থেকে Indirect Narration করার সহজ নিয়ম শিখব ।
(A) Direct Narration থেকে Indirect Narration করার নিয়ম
Narration Change 5 টি Sentence দিয়ে করা যায় । যেমন –
(i) Assertive Sentence দিয়ে Narration
(ii) Interrogative Sentence দিয়ে Narration
(iii) Imperative Sentence দিয়ে Narration
(iv) Optative Sentence দিয়ে Narration
(v) Exclamatory Sentence দিয়ে Narration
Narration Chane সঠিকভাবে শিখতে গেলে নিচের ছকটি আমাদের অবশ্যই মনে রাখতে হবে।

এবার আমরা প্রত্যেকটি Sentence দিয়ে Narration Change চেনার নিয়ম ও রুপান্তর নিয়ম উদাহরণ দিয়ে শিখে নিব ।
(i) Assertive Sentence দিয়ে Narration
চেনার নিয়ম – “ Sub + verb + obj ”
Says থাকলে ————– Says হবে
Said থাকলে ————– Said হবে
Said to থাকলে ————- told
“ ” তুলে দিয়ে ———- that হবে
যেমন – (1) He says , ‘ I am Fine ‘ .
Ans – He says that He was fine .
(2) The man said , ‘ I am going to market now ‘ .
Ans – The man said that he was going to market then .
(3) Rahul said to me , ‘ I kill a tiger ‘ .
Ans – Rahul told me that he killed a tiger .
(4) Rahul said to me , ‘ I killed a tiger ‘
Ans – Rahul told me that he had killed a tiger .
চিরন্তন সত্য – এর ক্ষেত্রে Narration Change
(5) The Teacher said , ‘ the sun rises in the east ‘
Ans – The teacher said that the sun rises in the east .
(6) He said to me , ‘ man is mortal ‘
Ans – He told me that man is mortal .
(7) The man said, ‘ the earth moves round the sun ‘
Ans – The man said that the earth moves round the sun .
অভ্যাসগত কাজ – এর ক্ষেত্রে Narration Change
(8) The boy said, ‘ my mother takes tea everyday ‘
Ans – The boy said that his mother used to take tea everyday .

(ii) Interrogative Sentence দিয়ে Narration
চেনার নিয়ম – “ ……………………………….. ? ”
Said / said to / asked থাকলে —————— asked হবে
Says / asks থাকলে ————————- asks হবে
“ ” তুলে দিয়ে ——————-if / ( wh-question/ how ) হবে
যেমন – (1) He said to me , ‘ Are you going to school ? ‘
Ans – He asked me if I was going to school .
(2) The boy asked the girl , ‘ what will you do tomorrow ? ‘
Ans – The boy asked the girl what she would do the next day .
(3) He said to me, ‘ have you seen my book ? ‘
Ans – He asked me if I had seen his book .
(4) Arun said to priya, ‘ will you help me ? ‘
Ans – Arun asked priya if she would help him .
(5) He said to me, ‘ what is your name ? ‘
Ans – He asked me what my name was .
(6) The boy asked , ‘ are cherry seeds lucky ? ‘
Ans – The boy asked if cherry seeds were lucky .

(iii) Imperative Sentence দিয়ে Narration
Imperative Sentence দিয়ে Narration আবার 4 টি নিয়ম দিয়ে করা যায় । যেমন –
চেনার নিয়ম –(1) – “ V 1 + obj ”
Said/ said to থাকলে ———— ordered হবে ( আদেশ )
Said/ said to থাকলে ————- advised হবে ( উপদেশ )
“ ” তুলে দিয়ে ——————- to হবে
যেমন – (1) The man said , ‘ come here ‘
Ans – The man ordered to come there .
(2) He said to me, ‘ open the door ‘
Ans – He ordered me to open the door .
(3) The teacher said to me, ‘ obey your parents ‘
Ans – The teacher advised me to obey my parents .
(4) The police said, ‘ obey the traffic rules ‘
Ans – The police advised to obey the traffic rules .
(5) The lady said to his client, ‘ keep silence ‘
Ans – The lady ordered his client to keep silence .
চেনার নিয়ম – (2) – “ please + V 1 + obj ”
Said/ said to থাকলে ———— requested হবে ( অনুরোধ )
“ ” তুলে দিয়ে ——————- to হবে
যেমন – (1) He said , ‘ please do the work ‘
Ans – The man requested to do the work .
(2) The woman said to him, ‘ please give me a glass of water ‘
Ans – The woman requested him to give her a glass of water .
(3) Raju said to Mira, ‘ please give me your per ‘
Ans – Raju requested Mira to give him her pen .
(4) The driver said to the man, ‘ please help me ‘
Ans – The driver requested the man to help him .
চেনার নিয়ম – (3) – “ Do not / don’t + V 1 + obj ”
Said/ said to থাকলে ———— forbade হবে ( নিষেধ )
“ ” তুলে দিয়ে ——————- to হবে
যেমন – (1) He said , ‘ do not go to play in the sun ‘
Ans – He forbade to go to play in the sun .
(2) The gardener said the boys, ‘ do not pluck flowers from the garden’
Ans – The gardener forbade the boys to pluck flowers from the garden .
(3) The worker said to the girl, ‘ don’t hide your problems ‘
Ans – The worker forbade to hide her problems .
(4) Mother said to her son,‘ ‘ do not run in the sun ‘
Ans – Mother forbade her son to run in the sun .
চেনার নিয়ম –(4) – “ let / let`s / let us ” [ এই তিনটি কথা প্রশ্নে থাকলেই এই নিয়মটি হবে ]
Said/ said to থাকলে ——– requested হবে ( অনুরোধ )
proposed হবে ( প্রস্তাব )
“ ” তুলে দিয়ে ———- that হবে
যেমন – (1) The lady said to the shop keeper, ‘ let me come in ‘
Ans – The lady requested the shop keeper that he might be allowed to come in .
(2) The boys said, ‘ let us go for a walk ‘
Ans – The boys proposed that they should go for a walk .
(3) The man said, ‘ let`s solve the problem ‘
Ans – The man proposed that they should solve the problem .

(iv) Optative Sentence দিয়ে Narration
চেনার নিয়ম – “ may + sub + verb + obj ”
Said / said to থাকলে —————— wished হবে ( ইচ্ছা )
Said / said to থাকলে —————— prayed হবে ( প্রার্থনা )
“ ” তুলে দিয়ে ———- that হবে
যেমন – (1) The woman said to me , ‘ May you live long ‘
Ans – The woman wished me that I might live long .
(2) The teacher said to me , ‘ May God bless you ‘
Ans – The teacher prayed me that God might bless me .
(3) He said to me, ‘ May you be happy ‘
Ans – He wished me that I might be happy .
(4) The madam said to the student, ‘ May your dreams come true ‘
Ans – The madam wished the student that his dreams might come true .

(v) Exclamatory Sentence দিয়ে Narration
চেনার নিয়ম – “ ! ” ( এই চিহ্নটি থাকলেই হবে )
Said / said to থাকলে —— Exclaimed in joy হবে ( আনন্দ )
Exclaimed in sorrow হবে ( দুঃখ )
Exclaimed in wonder হবে ( অবাক )
“ ” তুলে দিয়ে ———- that হবে
যেমন – (1) The boy said , ‘ Hurrah ! We have won the game ‘
Ans – The boy exclaimed with joy that they had won the game .
(2) The student said , ‘ Alas ! I have lost the pen ‘
Ans – The student Exclaimed with sorrow that she had lost the pen .
এই Sentence এর ক্ষেত্রে নীচের তিনটি নিয়ম ভালোভাবে মনে রাখতে হবে ।
- প্রশ্নে থাকা How তুলে দিয়ে উত্তরটিতে Very বসাতে হয় ।
- প্রশ্নে থাকা what তুলে দিয়ে উত্তরটিতে great বসাতে হয় ।
- প্রশ্নে থাকা ful বা ous যুক্ত শব্দের ক্ষেত্রে উত্তরটিতে সেই শব্দের আগে what তুলে দিয়ে great বসাতে হয় না , very বসাতে হয় ।
(3) Rajesh said , ‘ How cruel the lion is ! ‘
Ans – Rajesh exclaimed in wonder that the lion was very cruel .
(4) He said , ‘ What a garden it is ! ‘
Ans – He Exclaimed in wonder that it was a great garden .
(5) The man said , ‘ What a beautiful sight it is !
Ans – The man Exclaimed in wonder that it was a very beautiful sight .
