Ans – The Tsar sought the answers of his three very important questions about right time, right person and the right work as he thought that he would not fail in anything if he happened to know the answers.

Ans – The third question was about the most important occupation or work that one should undertake. From the answers, suggested by the hermit the most important work for a person is to do good to the man, with whom he happens to remain in the present time.

Ans – The Tsar was dissatisfied with the various answers of his questions by the learned men. Then he decided to consult a hermit, who was renowned for his wisdom.

Ans – The third question was about the most important work or occupation. In reply to this some suggested that the most important work was the scientific work while others suggested that it was the skill in warfare or the religious worship.

Ans – Before his meeting with the hermit, the Tsar put on simple clothes, dismounted from his horse and leaving his bodyguards walked alone. He did these as the hermit did not meet anyone but the common people.

Ans – The hermit thanked the Tsar when the Tsar took the spade from the hermit and proposed to do the digging for him. As a weak and old man the hermit felt relieved from the hard work of digging the ground and thanked the Tsar.

Ans – When the bearded man fainted before them, the Tsar and the hermit unfastened his clothes to discover a bleeding wound in his stomach. They washed the wound and bandaged it with handkerchief and towel to stop the bleeding.
