(1) Write a paragraph in about 150 words on “Global Warmings”.

GLOBAL WARMING
The human civilization is facing climate change hazards in this century. The scientists have longly started to ascertain the reasons behind this gradual changes in climate. A new phenomenon therefore comes into light, a great burning problem, the threats of Global Warming. The causes are several, starting from industrial emission of gases like carbon-di-Oxide, usage of air-conditioning machines; refrigerators emiting CFC-chlorofluorocarbon and mostly unplanned housing and other human set ups causing to deforestation and many more other human activities. The Polar ice which is the main source of reflecting heat back into space are melting in a faster way, causing the heat to restrain in the earth’s atmosphere. The sea water level is also increasing in a rapid movement causing threat of flood to the coastal areas and warm water flow causing threat to marine lives. It is a real hard time for the humans to face climate change resulting into the untimely seasonal motion causing either unbearable heat or cold, slowly but steadily throwing a warning to all living creatures. Only afforestation and other protective measures will not solve this grave issue. We just need to realize the forthcoming destruction and act on a sensitive way to reduce the emission of harmful gases to the atmosphere.
(2) Write a paragraph in about 150 words on “A Visit to A Place of Interest”.

A VISIT TO A PLACE OF INTEREST
On December 24, last year, I had a pleasure trip to Murshidabad, the one time capital of Bengal. I was accom-panied by my parents and my little sister. We boarded a train from Sealdah Station and reached Berhampur after a journey of four hours. From there we reached our destination by car. We stayed in Murshidabad for two days and saw all its attractions. We first visited Hazar Duari. Here, we were thrilled to see the sword of Nawab Siraj, the cannons and other historical exhibits. We also visited the Jafarganze Palace, the Katra Mosque, Motijhil Palace and the tombs of Nawab Alivardi Khan, Sirajuddaula and Lutfunnisa. History seemed to speak to us. The mansions, graveyards and the last remnants if the Muslim rule attracted me much. I felt as though I had stepped back in history. My trip to Murshidabad will for ever be treasured up in memory .
(3) Write a paragraph in about 150 words on “Environmental Pollution”.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION
In the present century, pollution is posing a great problem. Our cities are getting polluted all the time by smoke from mills and factories and from the poisonous carbon monoxide gases sent out by vehicles. Air pollution is bad for our health and it causes different lung problems. Noise or sound also causes pollution. This kind of pollution is caused by various horns used in vehicles and also by the unrestricted and indiscriminate use of microphones and loud-speakers at the time of various functions and meetings. Sound pollution has a bad effect on our ears. It may cause full or partial deafness in us. There is another kind of pollution namely water pollution. It is caused by untreated sewage, different chemicals and other waste materials. River and sea water becomes polluted when all these impure materials get mixed with it. These kill aquatic plants and animals. Marine life is also affected by this kind of pollution. Adequate measures should be taken to tackle environmental pollution without further delay .
(4) Write a paragraph in about 150 words on ‘The Sesaon You like most’.

Winter is always my favourite season. Winter months in our country begins in November and ends in the middle of February. Winter is very much enjoyable to me for its variety of fruits and vegetables. The icy cold mornings, the fog laden fields, the blooming of different winter flowers like Allyssum, Antirrhinum, Aster, Merrigold, Calendula and so on are the loveliest attraction of winter. Vegetables like cauliflowers, cabbages and tomatoes are found in abundance. The winter soon are filled with smell of orange and gooseberries, too. The sun with its warmth shines brightly and brilliantly now. Winter is also the season of different fairs like “Book Fair”, “Food Festival”, “Sweets and Pitha Fair” etc. The taste of date juice makes the winter more fun-filling. The great festival Diwali also marks the enjoyment of winter. Winters are at peak in the months of December and January when woolen clothes are taken out to wear. Chirstmas and New Year Celebrations knock us with its variety of cakes and celebrations. Many people like to visit the green lush mountains. It is a season of picnics and short family vacations at different places. The warmth of winter fascinates me for all these reasons.
(5) Write a paragraph in about 150 words on ‘Cleanliness’.

CLEANLINESS
Cleanliness means keeping ourselves and our surroundings clean. Cleanliness is an excellent habit which requires to be taught from childhood by parents and elders. It is always beneficial to remain clean from dirts, both physical and mental, to eliminate diseases. If we keep our surroundings clean, we will also feel good and remain healthy, too. It is a virtue of life, as keeping oneself clean also encourage others to follow. After maintaining personal hygiene and cleaning at our homes, we may reach out to the streets and important places like schools, colleges etc. By keeping our environment clean, we can avoid the spread of germs. The additional benefit of keeping our surroundings clean is mental peace and satisfaction which is felt within. The habit of cleanliness will also help us to concentrate on our work and will keep us motivated. The cleanliness of mind from superstitions, racism, dowry and other social evils are also necessary. The Earth is facing problems like global warming as the pollution index is steadily high. If we can contribute a little to it by keeping our surrounding clean, we can save our lovely planet from destruction.

Drug addiction is one of the major problems of our modern society. Drug addiction is not a disease as it may seem to many people. It is a psychological disorder that leads a person to use drugs excessively. Even though the person may know that the drugs are harming his body, he cannot control his urge to consume more and more drugs. The addiction may start with a small quantity but gradually it increases with time. The person becomes a slave of drugs and cannot live without them. He may start stealing money to buy drugs. A drug is a substance that changes how a person feels or acts, whether it’s physically, mentally, emotionally, or behaviorally. Drug addiction, also called substance use disorder, happens when someone loses control over using drugs or medications. Intoxications from alcohol, marijuana and nicotine fall into this category. When someone is addicted, they might keep using the drug even if it harms them. Proper medication and counselling may eliminate the habit and help a person return to the main stream of life .
(7) Write a paragraph in about 150 words on “The Profession I Like to Choose”.

Since the society is created, the need to take up a profesion is realised. Initially the premitive men had choosen the farmer’s profession as it was necessary to cultivate crops for their existence. The development in the socio-economical activities lead the emergence of different attractive professions as per requirement of society and mankind. Among all the professions I like to choose the profession of a teacher. Teachers are the only equipped persons who build the backbone of the society. A country can only proper if there are adequate wise and educated persons who throw their valuable inputs and insights to run the country in a successful way. A teacher not only inserts the education but also makes a man of us. A moral man, a true idol of the society is the asset of our country. We learn about the important do’s and don’ts in the path of our lives by the sincere care and support of teachers. Teachers induce values in us and lead us from darkness of ignorance towards lights of success. I study hard so that the base of my education is solid. I wish to be a teacher, a true metor to my students.

Social media itself is a formidable influencer. Apart from having some great possibilities, it also poses serious challenges. It has made access to education easier by connecting students, teachers, and educational institutions. Students enjoy easy access to free educational resources through social media (like Telegram). Career opportunities are now just a click away with LinkedIn and other job-centric platforms. WhatsApp and Facebook groups are beneficial for group study and group discussions. Social media, however, distracts students from focusing and disrupts their study habits. Craving for LIKES and SHARES often leads to acute depression. Innocent students fall prey to fake news and online fraud. They lose their sense of reality, living in a virtual world of REELS, LIVEs, and DP. Teachers and parents must guide and encourage their students and wards to focus more on educational activities and skill-building rather than reacting to a sensational post or ‘status’ with useless emojis.

Our life is very short and during this very period, we are to do lots of things for our personal gains and for the nation as well. Therefore, we must not leave a work for tomorrow what we can do now. If our scheduled work suffers, our success ends in smoke. We must be strictly punctual and disciplined. Come what may, we must endeavour to execute our work at the earliest opportunity. In this context the proverbs go, “Strike the rod while it is hot” and “A stitch in time saves nine”. So it Is said, “One who acts promptly prospers positively”. History says that successful are those who know each second of time.

In a healthy body resides a sound mind. Sports and games improve the physical fitness of a person significantly. Sports involve a lot of physical activity. There are various types of sports and games. Some of them can be played inside the door named as indoor sports and rest which are played in an open field are called outdoor sports. Sports and Games are benificial in a variety of ways, including helping to maintain blood pressure, increase blood flow, develop muscles and most impotantly improve thinking capacity and attention. Apart from the psycho-physical development, sports and games builds one’s personality and broadens outlook towards life. It also teaches good values, ethics and builds up a positive outlook towards life by reducing stress level in a person. Every sport teaches us the skills of handling difficult situations, quick decisions making and problem solving in a much accurate way. Sports and games teach us the discipline and improves our ability to work as a Team. A JOURNEY BY TRAIN
It was the middle of May. On 19th to be exact, I started for Puri with my parents. We reached the Howrah station in the evening. Passengers were waiting for the Puri Express. The train came in time. Hundreds of passengers jumped into it. We elbowed our way to our seats. Luckily I got my seat near a windows. At first the train moved on very slowly. Soon it gathered speed. It was a moonlit night. I looked out through the window. Bushes and trees, houses and huts, all seemed to run in the opposite direction. Nature’s beauty was magnificent. The train reached Balasore at midnight. Children had fallen asleep. People who were shouting were now snoring. I too felt sleepy. Soon I sank into a deep sleep. When I woke up, it was early morning. The train was nearing Puri. I had the pleasant experience of a journey by train .
