(1) World Water Day is onserved on March 22 every year. This year the theme was “Waste not Water” and it was aimed to make people aware of the imminent water crisis. Your school organized a programme to reduce wastage in the area. Write a report on it in about 75 words.

Kushmandi High School, 22nd March, 2024: World Water Day was observed with a rally of students with banners, write-ups like “Waste not, Want not”; “Save Water; Save Earth” etc. Mr. Rajnath Sikdar, an environmentalist, remarked on waste water treatment and Mr. S. Das, the H.M. told about rain water harvesting. A documentary was play, “Water is Life”. The programme revealed water wastage from various sources and the ways to redress it. Many students and local people were present on the day . The school building was decorated for this purpose .

Subhas Nagar High School, 25th March: The seminar on ‘Rising Prices Create a Crisis was organized by the commerce Section yesterday. The Head of the Dept., Mr. J. Ghosh chaired the seminar. He had a deep concern about infkation directly hitting the low and middle income group. Others spoke about hoarding and black marketing. Some told about the rising prices of diesel, petrol, cooking gas, pulses, oil. rice, tea and vegetables. The seminar ended with a discourse on overcoming crisis.

Kolkata, 29th June, 2024: A seminar on “Plastic Carry Bags A Threat to Environment” was organized by Naktala Tarun Sangha at 3 p.m. yesterday. The two hour programme revealed how Polymer product reduced the fertility of the soil and made food in the carry bag toxic. Mr. B. D. Sarkar, a famous environmentalist presided over a power-point presentation on plastiic wastes affecting marine life, wild life and water bodies. The civic authority was asked to ban plastic from the market.

(4) Your school participated in the Safe Drive. Save Life programme organized by the Kolkata Traffic Police. Write a report in about 75 words on the programme.

January 12, 2024, kolkata: ‘Road Safety Week’ programme was organized by the Kolkata Traffic Police at ABC School on 10th January, 2024 at 10 a.m. The programme began with a song on ‘Safe Drive Save Life’. Under the Traffic Police Authority the students and teachers made a rally with banners and festoons. The honourable S.P Mr. S.Nayek, Traffic Police-in-Charge remarked to follow Road Safety Guidelines. At the end the Headmaster thanked the Kolkata Police for this programme.

(5) Your school recently organized a week-long Nirmal Vidyalaya Abhijan in the immediate vicinity of the school. The students and all the staff took part In the programme. Write a report on the event within 75 words .

KOLKATA, 27th August: XYZ High School started a week-long Nirmal Vidyalaya Abhijan from 16th August to 22nd August, 2024. All the staff, including the Headmaster and students took part in it. Picking up the brooms the Headmaster started cleaning with the students and other staff. The chief guest, a Health Official ad-vised the students neither to litter nor let others litter. Garbage bags and brooms were used to clean the classroom, corridor and nearby areas. The programme included slogan writing, poster making, debates, and speeches. A play on ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’ was staged by the students on 21st August, 2024. The programme ended with a song of keeping the school clean.

Subhas Nagar High School, June 5 : World Environment Day was celebrated with great pomp and splendour in XYZ school. The celebration started at 10 in the morning. The school compound was decorated with colourful papers and balloons. Students of all classes attended the programme. It started with the headmaster, Mr KK Roy, planting a tree in the garden of the school. He gave a speech on the importance of plantation of trees and the role of trees in the maintenance of ecological balance of nature. Mr A K Bose, the chief guest and the local councillor, graced the chair of the President. He addressed the assembled students with an inspiring speech. There was a short cultural programme by the school students. The show ended with a dance drama where the students put on costumes symbolising different agents of nature and mother earth.

CLEANING DRIVE CAMPAIGN IN ABC SCHOOL

Kushmandi High School, April 10 : A week-long cleaning drive was organised in ABC School and its surroundings with tremendous enthusiasm. The programme was undertaken with the co-operation of the Block-level and Grampanchayat officers and the teachers and students of the school. The programme commenced on April 2, 2024 with the formation of a child cabinet. On April 3, 2024 the class-rooms, toilets and urinals were swept and later cleaned with phenyl-water. The school compound and the adjoining roads and drains were also cleaned. On the next day a seminar was organised to make the students and the people aware of the necessity of a clean and pollution-free atmosphere. On April 5, 2024 the students divided into some groups under the guidance of their teachers visited the adjacent villages to make a survey on the health and hygiene of people. The following day was fixed for the reporting of the survey to the local panchayat. On the sixth day a ‘Sit and Draw’ competition on the theme of ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness, was organised.

ANNUAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY

XYZ High School, March 5 : Yesterday XYZ School celebrated its annual prize distribution ceremony with great enthusiasm. It was the annual sports day where students were awarded for their merits In academics and sports. The programme was held on February 5 at 3 p.m. in the school auditorium. The programme started with a chorus song. The auditorium was decorated with colourful papers and flowers. Apart from the students and their parents many distinguished guests including the BDO of Kakdwip attended the programme. Mr A Chowdhury, the councillor of the area, presided over the ceremony. Guests and dignitaries delivered speeches to inspire the students to do better in academics and also in cocurricular activities. There was a delightful dance drama staged by the students of class 9. The show came to a close with our national anthem being sung by everyone present.

The students recited patriotic poems and delivered speeches and took oart in the Quiz contest. A drama was staged by students on “Unsung Heroes of India”. The programme ended with the national anthem.

A MIGIC SHOW AT ABC HIGH SCHOOL

ABC High School, April 1 : A magic show was organised in our school auditorium last Saturday, March 28, to amass funds for a blood donation camp to add a mite to the growing demands in the Blood Banks of the state. A notice was served for students to buy tickets of Rs 50 each in advance. Together with my parents and younger brother we entered the packed up auditorium and kept waiting expectantly for the show. Just at 2 p.m., wearing a gaudy apparel, the magician appeared on the dais and started a lazer show of dancing dolls. Next followed the balance show, juggling ball, tricks with cards, fire and vanishing himself from the dais. Lastly, he cut his own daughter Into two halves, but to the greatest surprise of all, she walked up from among the spectators. The awe-striking feats ended at 3.30 p.m. and we came home elated.
